Contracts Manager Mark Leonard from our Bristol
Depot was returning home from Swindon one afternoon in March
to attend a CSCS test, as he was driving down the M4 he witnessed
a car clipping a lorry and subsequently the car ending up
in a ditch upside down.
Mark stopped to see if he could be of any
assistance, he contacted the Emergency Services and then approached
the crash site. Mark discovered that there were 2 women in
the car and was concerned as the engine was still running
and he could smell fuel, he went to turn of the engine but
could not locate the ignition key.
Mark decided that the women had to be moved
and proceeded by removing the driver who was badly injured
and carried her to safety, he then proceeded to remove the
passenger from the rear of the car again badly injured and
pregnant, Mark managed to carry her to safety. The Emergency
Services arrived and took over the operations.
Mark then went home, showered and changed
his clothing and proceeded to the test centre for his CSCS
examination, which he passed 100% in 6 minutes.
