In July 2005 Deborah Services reached 200,000
man-hours over a two year period without a single recordable
accident on the ConocoPhillips Humber refinery.
Congratulations to DSL staff, supervision
and the entire workforce for a magnificent achievement over
the past 24 months.
This sort of safety performance has been
achieved with total commitment from the board in its aims
for zero accidents and the cascading down of the company’s
safety culture to the workforce with the introduction of the
group safety management system and the on site audited safety
action plan.
During 2004 DSL were part of a team who carried
out research into the introduction of double lanyards worn
with safety harnesses. The aim was to ensure that the scaffolders
have the equipment available to achieve 100% “Hook Up”.
The introduction of this system has undoubtedly reduced the
risk of potential accidents during the past few months. It
has provided another step to meet the companies aim to strive
for continuous improvement.
DSL’s Operations Director Peter Kidd
said on reaching such a fantastic milestone “We are
delighted that the company has completed over 200,000 man-hours
without a recordable accident on ConocoPhillips and every
person in the Deborah team should be proud of such an achievement
and I thank them for their hard work and commitment to succeed.
Our ongoing target on ConocoPhillips and all our other sites
is to work towards our aim of zero accidents.”
